Digital Networking for Improved Care of Patients with Cancer in East Bavaria

BioPark Regensburg GmbH, an enterprise of the City of Regensburg, has commenced the action phase of the “Master Plan for Healthcare” in the Regensburg Region. Within the framework of the Digital Health Initiative Regensburg started at the beginning of the year, stakeholders from the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ostbayern (CCCO) - coordinated by the University Hospital in Regensburg – met at the BioPark. This was to discuss solutions for electronic exchange of medical imaging data and clinical reports on patients with cancer between hospitals and doctors providing care together for the patients. Fast, simple and safe exchange of this patient data is an important basis for multiprofessional and interdisciplinary care of patients in the whole of East Bavaria.

Regensburg Delegation at the BIO in Boston

BioPark Regensburg took part together with representatives from companies, the University and the City of Regensburg in the largest trade fair for biotechnology worldwide in Boston, Massachusetts USA. In addition the delegation visited partners in Boston such as MIT Germany.

Cell-based sensory technology Made in Regensburg

The Fraunhofer Institute for Microsystems and Solid-State Technology (EMFT) has been operating research in the field of chemical and biosensory technology in Regensburg since 2010. Initially located in the BioPark, its activities are now being continued successfully at the Institute for Analytical Chemistry, Chemical and Biosensory Technology at the University of Regensburg focusing on “cell-based sensory technology”.

Incubator for Medtech founded at the BioPark

(No. 198) The first commercial incubator for medical technology has been founded by Prima Medical Technologies GmbH at BioPark Regensburg. Innovative medical solutions aim to expedite improvement of patients’ quality of life and make the work of the doctors providing treatment easier.

Healthcare Regensburg at the HIMSS18

(No. 197) The BioPark in Regensburg participated with its project “Healthcare Regensburg” in the largest Health IT trade fair in the world with 45,000 visitors and 1,300 exhibitors in Las Vegas at the Bavarian joint stand from Bayern International.

Current BioPark Financial Report 2017

(No. 196) Current development in the life science companies in the Regensburg Bioregion demonstrates a stable number of companies and employees in East Bavaria. The new financial figures presented by BioPark Regensburg amount to 51 companies and 3,851 employees for the cluster in East Bavaria.

Start of the Regensburg Digital Health Initiative

(No. 195) The BioPark in Regensburg started its project “Digital Health Initiative” with two events. The Initiative is intended to link, support and further develop activities on digitalization in medical healthcare provision in the location and in the region.

BioBalance – Work & Life @ BioPark

(No. 194) With this motto the BioPark in Regensburg is commencing together with the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) its Company Health Management at the location. In one of the first workshops together the stakeholders at the companies and institutes at the BioPark as well as the employees at Head Office and at the TK are developing an action plan for implementation.

New Toys for 2018

(No. 193) The child daycare facility “bamBIOni” at BioPark Regensburg GmbH, an enterprise of the City of Regensburg, was visited on time at Christmas by the “Christ Child” from the Head Office. With new toys the child daycare started a further succesful year.

Biotechnology “Made in Regensburg”

(Nr.192) BioPark Regensburg GmbH, an enterprise of the city of Regensburg, and the Patent Attorney Company Dehmel & Bettenhausen located in the BioPark have this year awarded the two innovation prizes to excellent work at the university of Regensburg in the framework of Dies academicus.
