Brief Description

Since September 2011 there has been a childcare facility on-site for the leasehold employees at BioPark Regensburg. Requests for available places can also be placed by other users. Sponsors of the childcare facility are Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. Regional Association Upper Palatinate. The childcare facility offers place for two groups, each with 12 children from 0-3 years old including lunchtime catering. The childcare facility is certified in accordance with quality management standards TÜV DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

Opening Hours

Our childcare facility is open from Mondays through Fridays between 7:00am to 5:00pm. The opening hours are determined by the needs of the parents and therefore may vary from year to year. The core hours of our institution are daily between 8:30am and 12:30pm. During this time all children should be present. Therefore this core hours are to be booked bindingly. Also in the period between 1:00pm and 2:00pm there is no pick up time. During this time the children are sleeping in the facility. Our childcare facility is closed up to 20 days per year. These days will be determined in consultation with the parents' council at the beginning of our nursery year in September. During Christmas holidays and two weeks in August our facility is closed.

Premises

Each group has its own room partitioned into areas such as a cosy sitting corner, reading corner etc., and additionally a sleeping area, cloakroom facilities, a side room for activities with small groups, storage space, staff room office, kitchen, toilets and a diaper-changing room. An outdoor play area offers the opportunity to play outside in the fresh air with a swing, sand pit, climbing facilities and the chance to drive the bobby car and push the pram on the paved area.

Free-play time and Project work

Of course there is painting, crafts, clay modelling, picture books, gym, dancing, singing, gardening, experiments & research in the child care facility. The children are challenged daily in the various areas of the Bavarian education and development plan. (language, motor skills, developing creativity, physical encounters and encounters with nature, mathematical challenges, cognitive challenges, …) In addition to this project work is a top priority. The childcare facility schedules itself in keeping with the current interests and needs of the children and then picks up on these themes. It lets a project develop out of this and looks together with the children for things fascinating and worth knowing, in the spirit of a childcare facility in an Innovation and Technology Centre like BioPark Regensburg.
